Thermaltake Targets AI Workloads with Dual-System AX1000 and Stackable AX200 Workstation Chassis

Thermaltake's new AX1000 TG and AX200 chassis pair dual-system motherboard support with stackable expansion, aiming at AI computing, content creation, and private server workloads.

Thermaltake has added two workstation enclosures to its lineup with the launch of the AX1000 TG AI Workstation Chassis and the AX200, a scalable platform the PC DIY brand positions for AI computing, content creation, private server infrastructure, and other demanding professional workloads. The AX1000 serves as the foundation for high-performance computing, while the stackable AX200 extends cooling, storage, and power capacity as workloads grow. Both chassis ship in black and snow colorways.

The defining feature of the AX1000 is its dual-system architecture, paired with a modular expansion concept. The enclosure supports up to two XL-ATX or SSI-EEB motherboards, giving builders a route to run two independent systems inside a single chassis. With as many as 20 PCIe expansion slots on offer, the design accommodates multiple high-end graphics cards of up to 630 mm in length — headroom aimed squarely at parallel processing for compute-intensive and AI-related workloads.

Storage and cooling provisions are similarly generous. The high-density interior holds up to twenty-four 3.5-inch HDDs or 2.5-inch SSDs, a capacity relevant to teams assembling local datasets or private server infrastructure. Thermal headroom extends to as many as twenty-nine 120 mm or 140 mm fans, while liquid cooling support covers up to two 420 mm AIO radiators or two 560 mm DIY radiators — an envelope consistent with sustained multi-GPU configurations.

For AI compute buyers, the announcement reflects a broader push by consumer PC hardware vendors into professional AI workstation territory, with dual-system and stackable designs offered as an alternative to rack-mounted servers for smaller deployments. Thermaltake's modular approach — a base chassis in the AX1000, with the AX200 scaling capacity outward — is directed at teams whose compute, storage, and cooling requirements are expected to expand as their workloads grow.
