AMD Revises Zen 6 EPYC Venice Estimates, Claiming Agentic AI Gains Over NVIDIA Vera

A new AMD white paper updates performance modeling for 6th Gen EPYC 9006 "Venice" server CPUs, mounting an aggressive case against Intel and NVIDIA in high-density data center workloads.

AMD has substantially revised the performance story for its upcoming server CPUs, and the refreshed projections are aimed squarely at its two chief rivals. A new company white paper, titled "AMD EPYC Server CPU Architecture And Performance Overview," updates AMD's modeling for the 6th Gen EPYC 9006 series, codenamed "Venice," which is built on the Zen 6 architecture.

The updated estimates make an aggressive case on two fronts. In revised agentic AI benchmarks, AMD's report claims that Zen 6-based Venice decisively outperforms NVIDIA's Vera platform — a direct challenge to the neighboring silicon giant's AI server system. The white paper simultaneously positions the 9006 family as a stronger proposition against Intel in high-density data center workloads, putting AMD up against both competitors in the same document.

The agentic AI framing is the eye-catching element of the refresh. It is the workload category that data center operators most closely associate with GPU-heavy systems, and AMD is using it to argue that its upcoming CPUs merit a central place in AI infrastructure planning rather than a supporting role alongside accelerators. That argument also sets up an unusual head-to-head in which a server CPU family is measured by name against an NVIDIA platform.

For buyers and investors, the usual caveats apply. These figures are AMD's own revised modeling — vendor-published projections rather than independently verified results — and pre-launch claims of this kind warrant confirmation on shipping hardware. Even so, the decision to refresh Venice's numbers and aim them directly at Vera and Intel is a clear signal of AMD's go-to-market posture for the high-density segment: contest AI-centric workloads against both rivals at once, and do it before the 9006 series reaches the market.
