MediaTek's flagship Dimensity 9600 Pro and secondary Dimensity 9600M arrive on TSMC's 2nm process roughly a year after the foundry deal, bringing 30-billion-parameter AI and 185 FPS gaming to mobile.
MediaTek has pulled the curtain back on its next generation of mobile silicon, headlined by the flagship Dimensity 9600 Pro and flanked by a secondary-tier option, the Dimensity 9600M. The headline chip is built on a 2-nanometer process and brings 30-billion-parameter AI capability alongside gaming performance rated at up to 185 frames per second, placing the new family at the top of the smartphone processor stack.
The 2nm foundation is the defining detail of the launch. The unveiling arrives almost exactly one year after MediaTek announced an agreement with TSMC to produce chips on the foundry's cutting-edge 2-nanometer manufacturing process. Moving from contract announcement to revealed commercial silicon in roughly twelve months is a brisk turnaround by leading-edge standards, and it demonstrates that the TSMC partnership has moved beyond paperwork into actual product.
AI capability is the second pillar. A specification built around 30-billion-parameter AI is a striking figure for smartphone-class hardware, giving device makers room to run substantially larger models on the platform than prior generations accommodated. As flagship handsets increasingly compete on generative AI features, model-scale headroom of this kind has become a headline selling point in its own right.
